Dear Parishioners,
In the scripture readings Moses is called by God from the burning bush to lead his people out of slavery into freedom. The parable of fig tree speaks on the one hand of God’s patience, but of the urgency of the call to conversion on the other. Once again thanks to all who are supporting our fundraising endeavours – the Easter Egg raffle and who have offered to bake for our Mother’s Day stall – still plenty of opportunities – every little bit helps. This is the 2nd weekend of our parish survey. Please return the completed survey as soon as you can or pick up one to fill. Of course it can be completed online as well. We have received a tremendous response to our proposed Parish pilgrimage in 2026. We might have some costs by the end of June. Let us continue to pray for our parish
community and one another.
Fr. Chris Shorrock, OFM Conv.

UNLESS YOU REPENT. When misfortune strikes people considered to be sinners, others might say: ‘They had it coming! God is punishing them!’ In today’s Gospel Jesus criticises such attitudes on two grounds. Firstly, it is wrong to see the wrath of God in every tragic event. Secondly, we need to recognise that we are all guilty of sin and in need of conversion. Instead of judging others, let us ask God to forgive our sins and help us as we undertake the difficult task of reform.
